Broken Image Faulty Wire by Jaffro

It’s a special moment when a brilliantly talented pop songwriter chooses an experimental path, and we’ve been blessed with one of those moments this week. UK-based Jaffro dropped a new record called Broken Image Faulty Wire, a collection of indietronica tracks overflowing with charming pop licks and endearing vocals. This record wears its British cultural influences on its sleeve, from its bouncy electronic beats to its deeply accented singing that at times feels reminiscent of the hippie era. At the same time, Broken Image Faulty Wire remains deeply engaging and somewhat challenging, not giving up its frosty, minimalist, experimental edge to the whims of its pop sensibilities. As an end result, we get an incredible crossover album with plenty to offer for music nerds and casual listeners alike. Jaffro has come through with a rare achievement in accessible experimentation which ought to be celebrated way more than it has been so far.
