Abstract hip hop artist PremRock forces us to ask hard questions on his new record Did You Enjoy Your Time Here…?, an album pointed not towards those whose will has been forcibly compromised, but instead towards those who seemingly possess no will at all. Free associated lyrics provoke several angles on the titular question, forcing us to ask ourselves what kind of country, what kind of family, what kind of profession, or what kind of community we want to live in. Entrancing instrumentals, a sample-based approach with a psychedelic pulse, keep these unusual rhyme schemes afloat, constructing extended verses that give these lyrics room to rhizomatically expand until they naturally flow into a catchy, memorable chorus.
