I’m Fine, Thanks for Asking by Marv Won
Next, on a significantly more conventional note, we have I’m Fine, Thanks for Asking by Marv Won. This Detroit boom bap features lyricism that flows like water but that’s filled with impactful barbs and spikes, describing the intense difficulties of maintaining a responsible way of life in a community and family that faces extreme hardship.
E.M.I.T. by moye.
Next, moye. brings us to a much slower pace with E.M.I.T., a laid-back but deeply layered album about the anxiety surrounding the passage of time. Fittingly, the album takes a very measured pace, giving each sample a chance to breathe all while drawing attention to all of the most prescient vocal lines.
