INSIDE NOISE: Letter to Self by SPRINTS
SPRINTS further refines their sound in Letter to Self, delivering frustrated and dark garage rock with an edgy 00s flair. With energetic basslines, discordant harmonies, and expressive lyricism, the group creates charged builds that allow for a strong sense of emotional development. Often existing in friction and anticipation, Letter to Self explores the neverending process of reconciling the sometimes toxic ideas given to you as a child with your experience and beliefs as an adult. SPRINTS does an excellent job tackling the lasting effects of this friction, clearly anxious but not set in depression, determined to persist and remain energetic throughout. The project is emotive and polished but I would personally love to hear some more fuzz in this to better suit its punk sensibilities. 7/10!
