The Snunchback of Notre Bung by Prosthetic Bung
A sound of pure panic as a noise rock bassist and drummer get abducted by aliens mid-performance, subsumed into an otherworldly jazz experiment that unites the uncertainty of the improvised with the angst of electric heaviness. On The Snunchback of Notre Bung by Prosthetic Bung, rabid, riffy vocals and completely abstract guitar work unite with a relentless rhythm section and jazzy woodwinds to welcome us into this band’s enigmatic, haunting environment. Eschewing the typical rigid motorik feel that we expect from this type of experimental jazz rock, the band instead opts for a more intense and dynamic sound, one that drips with raw emotion in a way that few other figures in the genre can. We don’t know what ghastly, unfathomable beast Prosthetic Bung has come face to face with, but through this musical reaction we feel its presence intimately, hair raising on the back of our necks as we brace ourselves before rounding every corner.
