Through the Window by Prewn

Always moving, always advancing, always reaching, always striving. Our constant mad dash down the highway occasionally raises the ugly question of where exactly we’re trying to go, but that’s best shrugged off and dealt with later, when there’s more time. Singer-songwriter Prewn briefly pulls off the road of ambition and takes stock of their journey on their new record Through the Window, thumbing through a trucker’s atlas and struggling to find their destination or even their current location. At times, Prewn feels drawn to a life of maximum fame and traditionally defined success, but these thoughts come with the baggage of guilt that one has spent life as a parasite. Regardless of where Prewn chooses to go, they know with absolute certainty that they want to get moving immediately, acknowledging the emptiness of a life lived in passive consumption. For a lot of young people today, the thoughts and feelings expressed on this record feel extremely familiar, as we each struggle to sift a purpose out of the mud of consumerism. In those vein moments when you want nothing more than to just fling this muck against the wall, Prewn’s music awaits.
