Dance Roundup Week of 10/22
Another strong week of underground dance! Check it out—
The Power [HT20] by The Phantom’s Revenge
French producer The Phantom’s Revenge cuts, splices, and scratches together a variety of fun self-referential samples on The Power. With a bouncy pace and sparkly tone, this disco-house release is perfect for keeping the party going all night long. -Kalen
Soft Cuts by Maria Uzor
Within the haze of an ethereal trance, up and coming UK producer Maria Uzor explores other worlds through her experimental electronic record Soft Cuts. Seamlessly weaving between techno, dark ambient, and dance pop, this dynamic release is an impressive debut and deserves dedicated listening. - Kalen
Accela by Lila Tirando a Violeta and Sin Maldita
The artists speak to each other in a secret language of deconstructed cyberpunk club beats, taking us through an intense and intricate conversation inspired by anime and Finnegan’s Wake, if you can believe it. One of my favorite releases this week. - Carrie
