He Died at the Age of Five by I’m Sure God Wouldn’t Do This to Me
No amount of faith in God will counterbalance the doubts we experience while witnessing some of the most depraved acts of violence imaginable, prompting us to ask how such a thing could ever be allowed to happen. As the world stands by in horror and asks these questions, drone artist i’m sure god won’t do this to me masters this dumbfounded stare on their new EP he died at the age of five. Stretching dungeon synth to its limits, traditional middle eastern melodies emanate from simple synths placed in cavernous acoustic environments, mingling with noise elements that emulate the anguished screams of onlookers. Occasionally, however, the absent God makes an appearance, beaming down hope in the form of warm, fuzzy digital noise even as all other sources of light exit the scene. Such deeply human reactions to the senseless loss of innocent life inspire levels of empathy that a news story just can’t, forcing us face-to-face with the ongoing atrocities that shake the world’s faithful.
