Suddenly, we wonder how and why we got here, and we realize with a jolt we’ve been sucked into the beautiful dream world of Thauma by Big Hands. Diverse influences and a wide cast of supporting musicians keep each track lively, showcasing cultures from every side of the Mediterranean sea and celebrating them all as long-separated branches of the same tree. Digitally sequenced yet strikingly organic percussion drives us through the scene, grounding our experiences in a stable foundation of understated techno that cautiously ebbs and flows with the surrounding energy.
