Beijing psychedelic outfit Backspace investigates these questions on their new record Outside of Change, a stream-of-consciousness journey through our awkward interactions with space and time. With the backing of a krautrock structure and traditional Chinese melodies, a deep, graceful vocalist analyzes the ultimate offer of escape, a chance to live the psychedelic dream and leave the physical world behind. However, every second spent in this virtual garden of Eden eats away at our precious time, causing a whirlwind of emotion as we emerge from our lair and notice changes in the outside world.
